BBQ Beats NYD 01.01.09 took place at the Riverstage & City Botanic Gardens, Brisbane. A fantastic day was had by all to celebrate the start of the new year.
However one unfortunate incident occurred with one of the headline acts, Sneaky Sound System having the cancel their performance at the last minute due to travl problems to attend the event. Below is an official press release provided by Sneaky Sound Systems management to answer the many emails we have received as to why they had to cancel their performance.
This unfortunate circumstances was totally out of the control of the event organizers, and Ten Pound Crew, Fuzzy, Future Entertainment & Cross Promotions truly hope that everyone managed to have a great day and enjoy the world class production, facilities, markets and the array of international, national and local musicians that we're still on offer at this event.

SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM – BBQ BEATS SHOW - BRISBANE 1 JANUARY
Regrettably Sneaky Sound System was unable to perform as scheduled at the BBQ Beats event in Brisbane yesterday, 1 January 2009.
Unfortunately the band was caught in extended traffic delays travelling from their previous performance to the airport and missed the last flight that would have landed them in Brisbane on time for their performance.
Sneaky Sound System sincerely apologises for their inability to make the show and promises to make it up to all those who were hoping to see them.
